Drugs, medications, herbs, supplements, and even drinks like alcohol or spirits (the drug's evil cousin.) the tiniest amount possible on something as wide as a tack and dried to paper can take your mind completely out of your body, at least in YOUR HEAD! Yet when you are on them at times it's like you have a different perspective on everything. Sure, sometimes you'll catch yourself milking a cat, see random like milking a freaking cat. But then sometimes you catch yourself doing something remarkable or better than you've ever done before. You see I'm a TBI survivor who happens to be wheelchair bound and I typically have a routine when going to bed. Cooking the other half of the pizza that I only cooked half (who only cooks half of a pizza? Must be stoned. I am. Along with multiple other pills, medications, rubs, etc. They can be positive too. Anyway back to the pizza. How do you cook half of a pizza without getting cheese all over the bottom of the oven? Put a pan on the rack under the rack the pizza is on to catch anything. Sure the pizza might have been ill timed being three hours past my usual time of getting into bed. Again a result of the medication. Yes, marijuana is a medication. And I can't remember right now, another small negative side effect of the drug, but I will record in the future some of the incredible things that I've done only because I was high.
There are countless medications that are life-changing. For instance my Sinemet or Carbidopa-Levodopa. I'm all shakes without it. Can't even turn on my tablet. There are people who would die without their heart medications. If you are a coffee drinker and have something bad to say about stoners you better bite your tongue you freaking addict! Yes, caffeine is a drug. Obviously, all drugs vary in regard to strengths and side effects. But you can still overdo it. Drink three five-hour energy drinks and see if you can actually stay seated for a conversation. There are even people who swear on everything Holy that putting coffee aka caffeine in your back door enema style at five hundred milliliters has changed their lives. Think about that next time you're sipping your coffee at breakfast.
But before I go more into the positives of marijuana, I wouldn't feel right if I didn't point out some of the major downfalls. It's a gateway drug and can lead to other drugs. Many people kind of stumble into it on accident or just through situational happenings like parties or get-togethers. And then at the next get-together, people are doing something harder and you can give in to a new drug of choice. My motor functions are the first thing to go. It's like my mind opens up but my body shuts down. Since my accident, my speech has always been bad, but get me ripped and my best friend or a close associate can't even understand me. My voice especially, is the first thing to go.
I'm going to rant a little bit about various drugs;

I'm going to rant a little bit about various drugs;
- Acid- It is definitely one of the strongest and most mind-bending, leaving you feeling like a complete stranger, taking you out of your body feeling crazy drug. This can give you a total feeling of awe and weird wackiness but it will also definitely leave a gaping hole in part of your brain. Something so powerful in a pin-drop-sized dried pool of liquid.
- Aerosols/inhalants- Kill your brain fast. Very dangerous. I accidentally discovered sniffing gas at a very young age. This was probably the beginning of my journey of mind-altering and destructing. Messes with your sight and your hearing. Sounds I remember hearing are similar to, WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP, honestly.
- Alcohol- Seriously the scariest and one of the most powerful. This can leave some people feeling powerless. The US saw its potential dangers and tried prohibition for 13 years. But eventually had to cave for everyone who was into it was adamant about keeping it accessible. People can lose their lives, children, spouses, jobs, homes, and vehicles over this. The only thing they might lose that's jokingly positive is their virginity! You might find yourself waking up and looking at your bedmate and saying, “Wow, how much did I have to drink last night?” This could cause both types of reactions.
- Agaric/Amani (magic mushrooms)- This can sometimes leave you feeling sick to your stomach. Still powerful enough to give you an out-of-body feeling. But the fact that it comes from nature makes a person feel a little bit better. Microdosing of these mushrooms is still being researched for the results of these blind and or placebo studies show multiple positive outcomes.
- Aspirin/Tylenol- The common remedy for headaches or simple pain. Could damage kidneys but only if you were to do ten a day for ten years.
- Anabolic steroids- AAARGHH! Let's get our PUMP on! A bodybuilder's drug of choice. To me, it's a vain attempt to show more veins. People are so addicted to looking good that they risk their health for it. But the people who are into this drug are REALLY into it.
- Cocaine- Again the people who are into this one are really into it. Getting so carried away that they get nosebleeds. And then it's evil half-blood crack. In the seventies, cocaine was so big that they even had a song about it! A party drug for sure. Both of them could easily have you end up living out of a shopping cart.
- Tobacco- Cigarettes, cigars, chew, snus, snuff, and, e-cigarettes. All of these are highly addictive and very hard to quit. Some people will smoke until the point where they need an electrolarynx, or chew until they have a gaping hole in their chin. Government officials put warnings on the boxes but I'm sure they secretly love this tax-cash cow.
- Codeine- Cough syrup ingredient. Chug a whole bottle of Robitussin and you'll feel a goofy high similar to alcohol but with a colorful twist.
- Crystal meth- Need some energy to clean? Try this one. No, don't actually. That was just always my excuse for cleaning up my stoner apartment every couple of months. Holding onto the pipe turned a misdemeanor into a felony. Some people just smoke it and some will put it in a vein. Sleeping is so important. But some people will stay awake for months on this one. Getting so paranoid that they block out their windows and fake their lights being turned off at four am. Take a good look at your smile and teeth if you're going to start this one because they won't last very long after you start.
- Heroin- So many great rock stars and musicians have overdosed on this powerfully strong and super addictive drug. The withdrawals are so bad that they can include; abdominal cramping, diarrhea, dilated pupils, goosebumps, nausea, aggressive and violent behavior, chest pain, vomiting, and even death could result from heroin withdrawal. Scary drug, no wonder it's always associated with the Grim Reaper.
- Synthetic cannabinoids- These are an entertaining option for anyone who is in legal trouble. Catch a buzz similar to that of pot but can cause headaches. And the taste is way off. Sure it can come in bubble gum or strawberry but it leaves a funny film-like feeling in your mouth. Nothing can match the taste of a "green" or first hit of a bowl or whatever smoking method of nugs. But now you can have a little bit of fun and still pass your piss test.
- Morphine, OxyContin, and other various painkillers- These drugs were designed with every intention of doing good and helping people with pain relief. Their makers had no idea how easily they could be abused and misused. Who we used to call them dealers, we now call doctors.
- Peyote- They passed a bill allowing Native Americans to legally use this drug. But even if you don't believe in a "Great Spirit." If you smoke this drug you will start hallucinating and begin believing in something random that isn't actually happening. Like the floor is melting.
- Topical crem
- Toad- Many people claim that smoking toad can be euphoric and life-changing. It's silly in my opinion for you can die from toad poisoning.
- Marijuana, Pot, Skunk, Cheeba, Nugs, Mary Jane, and multiple other nicknames. It lowers your blood pressure, reduces inflammation, treats anxiety disorders, treats gastrointestinal disorders, prevents seizures, and has even been proven to help cancer patients. Also is a little bit of an aphrodisiac.
